Birthday Blog

It's my Biiiirrrrthddaaaaayyyyy! :D Today I turned 24 years old and I've been having lots of fun celebrating.

Look how yummy my birthday cake was! Covered in sweets and candy ... Definitely worth a day off of the diet and fitness routine!

Obviously the dogs wanted some cake, but I only gave them a little nibble of the sponge part. I love these little cuties and their puppy-dog eyes.

My Sister obviously pays close attention to everything I say I want or need! I wanted a rucksack for when I go on walks to hold my water bottle, sweater, doggy poo-bags etc. I've wanted a chihuahua figurine for AGES. I liked this sweater in Primark when I went there the other day, and the clear make-up storage trays I've been eyeing up on other people's blogs. I got all of the things I wanted! How lucky! :)

I love my chihuahua figurine and dog coaster - definitely a crazy dog mom! Andy bought me such a beautiful bracelet from Tiffany & Co. I truly am spoiled and very blessed!

We went to a hotel for a full afternoon tea, which was lovely. We had to bring some of it home in doggybags though, as there was far too much for us all to eat in one sitting.

This last photo is from last night, before Andy and I headed out for a meal with a couple of close friends. We had a great laugh with good food and good company.

Andy and I are going to a Spa Hotel tomorrow as a gift from my Mum, which is nice of her! (Thank you, Mumma!!! I love you!) I will try to take lots of photos whilst there and do another bday blogpost.

Wishing you a beautiful day!

Love & Kisses,

Vicki xoxo

Primark & Superdrug Haul

I am absolutely loving the new stuff in Primark at the moment! I just had to go there and buy a few bits. I also went to Superdrug to pick up some beauty necessities.

In Primark I got ...

A cute pastel blue 'Long Beach' tank top (top left; £3), a white 'Palm Beach' tank top (top right; £3), a mint 'If found please return to the beach' tank top (bottom right; £5), a neon pink and white palm tree print scarf (bottom left; £4) and some adorable dog-print wrapping paper (far right; £1). I also bought some really cute pyjamas for Andy's Sister's birthday, but I haven't pictured them - just in case she's reading this! Haha! I love all my Primark purchases - everything's so bright and summery! And cheap!

In Superdrug I got ...

Two large cans of Batiste Dry Shampoo in 'Blush' - Superdrug are currently selling Batiste at half price, so if you use it, go and stock up ladies!
I got Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation in 'Nude' and Maybelline Falsies Mascara in 'Black'. These are both staple items in my makeup bag. Superdrug are doing a '3 for 2' deal on makeup at the moment, so I got Maybelline Super Stay Nail Polish in 'Mint for Life' for FREE! I love stocking up on beauty essentials when there are offers or discounts running. What's the point in spending extra money on things you use every day?

What do you think of my little haul purchases? Have you seen Primark's new lines?

Love & Kisses,

Vicki xoxo

Easter Weekend

I'm late as usual ... but here are some pictures from my Easter Weekend with the family. I hope everyone had a lovely long weekend, ate lots of chocolate and spent good quality time with their loved-ones!

Frohe Ostern

I had a lovely long Easter weekend, which I spent with both my family and Andy's. Lots of tasty food and good company!
Bambi and Rio on Nicki's lap as she does her make-up.
Rio is such a little poser!
Chocolate Bunnies!
Cute 'Bambi' PJ top from my Dad for Easter.
Some of my Mum's Easter decorations.
Swans just outside my Mum's place.
Easter Napkins.
Yummy homemade chicken roast dinner.
Easter Cake!
Me and my Sister.
The boys in their cosy sweaters.
Rio decided that it would be fun to jump in muddy puddles during the Easter day walk. He wasn't so happy when he had to have a bath when we got home!
I love these beautiful flowers in my Mum's house.
The egg that I painted at Andy's house. (Yes, a small child probably could have painted it a million times better!)
I wish I had seen this before Easter! So cute! Must remember this for next year! (Image not my own. @makeandcomigo)

Andy's family take part in several Lithuanian Easter Traditions, similar to those of the Germans. We painted boiled eggs beforehand, and on Easter Day we played different games with the eggs.

Does your family have an Easter Traditions? I love to find out what others do to celebrate special occasions.

Love & belated Easter Kisses,

Vicki xoxo

Polar Watch Review

So I've had my Polar Watch (Heart-Rate Monitor (HRM)) for a little while now and thought I'd give it a short review in case anyone would like to know a bit more about it before buying one themselves.

Being a Blogger and an avid InstaGramer (I believe the correct term is 'IGer'?) I noticed a lot of hype about HRMs and in particular, Polar HRMs. Since I wanted to lose weight, tone up and have more effective workouts, I decided to purchase a pink Polar Watch online and have been using it ever since.

Product:  The watch is a lot less bulky "in real life" than it looks in pictures. It's small, cute, feminine and looks just like a regular digital wrist-watch. If you buy the watch in pink, the colour is almost a raspberry pinky-red which is quite nice. The silver buttons on the side are easily pressed, but I feel could be a little less flimsy (they feel plastic-y and I'd rather a more metal-feel). The display of the watch is clear, bright and very easy to read - there's even a light to read the watch in dark conditions.

The chest-strap is really comfortable and easily adjusted. If you lose weight there's no need to purchase a new strap, you can just adjust the length - the same can be said if you put on a little weight. The heart-rate monitor clips on and off of the strap so quickly and easily - even a first-timer could figure it out.

Setting up the watch to your individual specifications (i.e. age, height, weight etc) was super simple when using the instruction booklet, and it took me less than 5 minutes.

Value for Money:
I bought my Polar HRM online for about £59.99 including postage and packaging. I've seen the same watch being sold from £59.99 to £79.99. I think I got my watch at an amazing price, and I would definitely recommend anyone to buy one themselves. It's worth the money!!! I wear my HRM when I go to the gym and when I go for walks, but I know of people wearing them cycling and playing all sorts of sports also. Once you've used your HRM, you won't want to ever exercise without one again. Watching your calories burn, your heart-rate and the length of your workout is so addictive!

Packaging:  The packaging is quite simple. Black, neat box, clear instructions. It's not fancy and the packaging doesn't need to be - the product speaks for itself.

Would I Recommend it to a Friend:  100% yes!!! Buy one today! You won't regret it! HRMs improve your workout, your motivation and your understanding about your own body.

I hope this review helped even just one person out! I know what it's like deliberating about whether to buy something with your hard-earned money, but maybe this blogpost might have helped you make up your mind!

If you love your Polar watch or have another kind of HRM - let me know what you think of yours! Do you love yours? Or would you rather have bought a different one?

Love & Kisses,

Vicki xoxo

Mother's Day Weekend

Happy Mother's Day to all the lovely Mamas in the UK & Ireland! I hope you've all spoilt your Mum's today and had a lovely sunny weekend like we've had here down on the South Coast!

Our family started off the Mother's Day Weekend on Saturday at a local Country Club. It was a fabulous day and we enjoyed a spot of lunch at the fancy bar-restaurant.

On Mothering Sunday I turned up at my Mum's house bearing gifts. I helped to prepare a yummy Sunday Roast Dinner which we enjoyed with Champagne, followed by Apple Pie and Custard. So Yummy!

My Flowers and Card to my Mum.
My Sister gave my Mum little pots of Daffodils, Lindt Chocolates and a cute Card.
Me & Mummy.
Mum & my Dogs.
I love the view from my Mum's place.
Bambi & Rio enjoying the sunshine.
Me and my Sister.

The dogs have been enjoying sunbathing in the sunshine and nice walks outside. It's fair to say they've had a lovely weekend too - they even got their own mini Sunday Roast!

Wishing you all a beautiful week ahead,

Love & Kisses,

Vicki xoxo
